Spend a day at Barcelona Zoo with your entrance ticket. Located in the heart of the “green lung” of Barcelona – Parc de la Ciutadella – Spain’s top zoo is home to more than 4,000 wild animals in spacious, leafy enclosures. See dolphins, lions, monkeys and more, and learn about Snowflake, the much-loved, rare white gorilla who once lived in this beautiful zoo.

Enjoy an fun an educational day at Barcelona Zoo, in Parc de la Ciutadella. Besides having the accolade of being Spain’s most modern zoo, it’s also Spain’s oldest – having been open to members of the public since 1882. Covering a space of nearly 32 acres (13 hectares), the zoo really requires a full day to see it all, and luckily, there’s a mini-train to help you get around. Alternatively, you can hire an electric car at your own expense.

Reproducing the natural habitat of the animals that live in it, Barcelona Zoo is split into different spacious sections with open enclosures for mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles. Additional areas include the ‘infants’ zoo’ where kids can get up close to tamer animals, and the dolphinarium, where friendly dolphins perform in front of large viewing windows.

Until recently, Barcelona Zoo was particularly well known for being the home of a rare white gorilla called Snowflake (Floquet de Neu), who sadly died in 2003. To keep the memory of Snowflake alive, the zoo is passionate about helping endangered gorillas – participating in numerous endangered species awareness and conservation programs.

See all the big-name animals that you’d expect to see in a top zoo, like hippos, lions, tigers and monkeys, as well as animals that are native to Spain, like the Iberian wolf. As you explore, learn all about these fascinating creatures from information signs and interactive zones around the zoo.

With plenty of leafy picnic areas, cafés and restaurants on site, you can eat lunch at the zoo (own expense), or simply sit down and relax in between seeing Barcelona’s impressive collection of animals!

Set on Montjuïc Mountain and with excellent communications with the center of Barcelona, Poble Espanyol is the only place in the city that allows you to discover the soul of Spain. Take a pleasant, peaceful stroll through its streets and squares, admire its buildings and contemporary art collection, watch the craftsmen as they give shape to their works and don’t miss the audio-visual attractions we have opened in 2017. Explore the entire soul of a country.

This year, Poble Espanyol has gone one step further by opening Feeling Spain, five immersive audio-visual capsules created with the objective of allowing you to know and feel the diversity and cultural wealth of different parts of the Peninsula: the north, the Way of St. James, the Mediterranean, the south and the territory of El Quijote.

Built in for the International Exhibition of the same year, Poble Espanyol is a recreation of 117 real-life scale buildings representing different regions of Spain. As you wander through it, you will see Spain’s extensive and varied architectural heritage, from the Andalusian quarter to the Romanesque-style monasteries of Catalonia. You will also be able to watch craftsmen making glass, leather or jewels, among other products, as they shape unique pieces with their hands. This is what makes Poble Espanyol a truly singular shopping center in Barcelona, open 365 days a year.

You can also have the chance to admire the works of famous Spanish and universal artists. The Fran Daurel Museum houses works by Picasso, Dalí and Miró and up to 300 works exhibited in the Sculptures Garden, a large area in which nature and art come together in harmony.

See the works of Spanish artist Joan Miró at the Fundació Joan Miró (Joan Miró Foundation) in Barcelona with this skip-the-line entrance ticket. The museum building is the result of the friendship between two extraordinary artists, Miró and the architect Josep Lluís Sert. As you admire the artwork, you'll be part of a space conceived by Miró with a desire to make art accessible to all—a place for participation and dialogue based on ideas and artistic disciplines.

The Fundació Joan Miró is a living center, open to the world, where you can discover and explore the work of Joan Miró and other artists. With your skip-the-line admission, you can avoid the ticket queue to get inside the building, a cultural icon of Barcelona, located in the green zone of Parc de Montjuïc.

Described by Miró as “an open, radiant architecture focused on the vision of art and the contemplation of nature: a garden for everybody,” the museum is a space where the boundaries between art, architecture, and landscape blur. The collection on display offers an overview of the different stages of Miró’s oeuvre and the different media that he worked with in the course of his career. It is one of the most comprehensive collections of his work anywhere in the world.

“What counts is not the work itself, but the course of one's spirit throughout one's entire life.” –Joan Miró

Miró's contact with avant-garde movements, his links to surrealism, and the influence of poetry led him to develop a unique, intensely personal language through which he expressed his vision of the world. With his tireless spirit of inquiry, he transcended conventional painting and became one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

In addition to the collection, the Fundació Joan Miró organizes temporary shows, exhibitions of the work of emerging artists at Espai 13, and activities for audiences of all ages.
